Chennai has a deeper live-music bench than any other Indian metro — a legacy of the Margazhi season, the Music Academy, and a professional-musician guild that takes its work seriously. We've mapped it: 80+ active gigging units across Carnatic, Hindustani, film, jazz, rock, electronica fusion, and devotional.
The match matters more than the name. A Saturday 9pm reception band should not be a Sunday 6am muhurtham ensemble. We ask four questions (venue decibel limit, crowd age band, musical brief, budget ceiling) and come back with three shortlisted units you can hear before you commit.

Can we audition the band before paying the advance?+
Yes — we send recorded sets from the last 6 months, and for bookings above ₹3L we schedule a 30-min live audition slot at the band's rehearsal space.
How do you handle decibel limits for venue permits?+
We pre-brief the band on the venue's dB ceiling (most Chennai hotels = 85 dB after 10pm) and send a compliant stage-plot. For outdoor venues we handle the noise-pollution-board permit.
Is the sound system / PA separate?+
Solo-to-sextet tiers include a basic PA. Showband requires a full AV overlay — we quote this separately or bundle through our production desk.
Do you have female Carnatic ensembles for muhurtham?+
Yes — 4 all-female Carnatic ensembles on our panel, ranging from 4-piece to 8-piece. Rates start at ₹95,000 for a 90-min muhurtham set.
