TVS needed an industry awards night that read as prime-time television, not a corporate party handing out plaques. 600 guests, 24 categories across two-and-a-half hours, a multi-cam broadcast capture, trophies engraved in real-time as winners were called.

The problem
The winners were unknown to the audience AND the hosts until each envelope opened. That meant pre-recorded reveal VTs had to be generic enough to fit any nominee — no winner-specific footage until the award-edit cut happened post-show.
Physical trophies needed to be engraved with the winner's name on the night. Traditional approach: engrave five options beforehand and throw away the unused. We pushed back — too wasteful, and awkward if a nominee pulled out late.
TVS wanted a broadcast cut delivered within 48 hours, with the host's segments re-voiced in Hindi for regional distribution. That meant recording the host twice per segment — once live on stage, once in a sound booth between categories.

The approach
Multi-cam broadcast rig: 8 cameras, live switcher, wireless feed from the red carpet to the ballroom director's monitor. Every category reveal was filmed in real-time from 3 angles so the edit had proper coverage.
Trophy-on-demand: we set up a laser-engraving station in the green room. As each winner was announced, a crew member carried the base into the station, engraved the name in 45 seconds, and the trophy was on stage before the winner finished walking down the aisle.
The Hindi VO redo was the producer's cleverest hack — during each award segment's 90 seconds of stage time, the host stepped into a soundproof booth behind the stage and re-recorded the Hindi version. By the time the last award was read, the Hindi edit was 95% complete.
Show day
Red carpet opened at 6pm. 600 guests, industry heads, trade press. Our press producer managed arrivals against a printed call sheet — every nominee pre-warned that our photographer would pull them for a 20-second portrait regardless of the outcome.
Show ran 7:15pm–9:45pm. Two technical moments — a wireless mic cut out during the 12th category reveal (we lip-synced the teleprompter for 4 seconds; invisible to audience), and a trophy base cracked at the engraving station (backup base substituted in 20 seconds; no one noticed).
Post-show: trophies in winners' hands by 10pm. English broadcast cut delivered 40 hours later. Hindi cut delivered 52 hours later. Both aired on a business channel the following week.
“We've hosted this awards night for six years. This was the first one where the production didn't distract from the winners.”
